Company Overview
Founded on March 1, 1987, Automation Control Company (ACC) is a Louisiana-based corporation that specializes in providing engineered products and systems to the industrial, marine, and utility markets. As a trusted manufacturer's representative, we partner with leading electrical equipment manufacturers to offer innovative solutions.
In addition to our product offerings, ACC designs and assembles custom-engineered electrical control panels at our state-of-the-art facility. Our engineering team provides comprehensive CAD design and documentation services, ensuring precision and quality. We also offer expert on-site support for a range of applications, including protective relaying, lightning protection, power quality management, grounding, and uninterruptible power supplies.
Leadership Team
James W. (Jim) Gerald, Founder and Former President
James W. Gerald earned his Bachelor's degree from LSU in 1967 and began his career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation as a field sales engineer, serving for 7½ years. He then spent 11 years as a specialty product sales manager in the electrical supply industry. In 1987, he founded Automation Control Company, Inc. and led the company until his retirement in 2019. His son, Steve Gerald, now serves as the company’s President.

Steve Gerald, President
Steve Gerald joined Automation Control Company in 1995 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. As President, Steve leads the company’s overall operations and strategic direction. In addition to his executive role, he oversees inside sales, quality control, shop operations, and accounting administration, ensuring the highest standards of service and efficiency.

Douglas H. Obee, Former Vice President
Douglas H. Obee earned his B.S.E.E. from The University of Cincinnati in 1968. Following eight years in electrical manufacturing and wholesale sales, he served as Engineered Products Manager for an air compressor supplier for 10 years. Doug joined ACC in 1987 and retired in 2010.

Derek Bourgeois, Engineer
Derek Bourgeois joined Automation Control Company in 2010, bringing with him a B.S.E.E. from LSU. He specializes in control panel layout and schematic design, the quoting of engineered products, panel testing, field start-up assistance, and troubleshooting, ensuring the seamless implementation of our solutions in the field.
